Big Adventure 2016
Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe
September 2-3, 2016
September 2 (morning): Our big adventure for 2016 will start at the Emerald Bay Campground. We will set up camp and have some lunch with a view of one of the most beautiful parts of Lake Tahoe.
September 2 (afternoon): We will go from the campsite to the Eagle Falls trailhead. The hike to Eagle Falls is a 1.8-mile moderate hike. After exploring Eagle Falls, we will head back to camp for dinner, campfire, and star gazing.
September 3: Wake up, eat breakfast and break out the life jackets. We will have a sailboat, several kayaks, some canoes, and any other floating vessels we can get our hands on. Everyone who wants to will pile in a boat and head out to Fannette Island to explore. Fannette Island is Lake Tahoe’s only island and features the ruins of a house built in 1928, which was constructed for tea parties.
NOTE FOR PARENTS: all adventurers need to plan on bringing their own food, sleeping bags, tents, and any other camping necessities. Although we can all carpool, parents need to make sure they have arranged a ride for their kids. (Any parents who want to come are welcome; please RSVP).
